Andy Hanson

Andrew Merz Hanson has 35 years of investment experience in public and private companies. He has had his own family office, Redwood Investment Management, since 1997. Andy’s experience in early stage companies includes investments in over twenty companies in diverse industries such as consumer products including cosmetics and video gaming, health care testing and immunological treatments for cancer, optical communications equipment and telecommunications software, and xerography, as well as the first venture capital company in Mexico. He has served on the Boards of Advanced Color Technology, Digital Impact, and HDS Cosmetics. He has served as interim CFO of Advanced Color Technology, HDS Cosmetics, and Intelligent Pixels where he was primarily responsible for fundraising. He was President of the Connecticut Angel Guild for five years. Andy has an M.B.A. in finance and marketing from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Andy has Board level experience in the issues facing private companies, and has a particular interest in finance and marketing. He has a background in capital markets, financial strategy and investor relations including drafting investor presentations and being a member of the road show team. He understands the issues involved in building a private company, including corporate culture, incentive structure, control systems, and succession planning.
